Hayden was headed outside to play with some friends and I thought that there was no way Hayden would remember the birthday party when his other friends showed up to play. I thought that he'd want to play video games with his friend because that's what his friend likes to do. So after Hayden spent most of the morning and afternoon outside that day, he came in pretty tired. I figured he was going to ask for video games because he was so exhausted. Hayden was so excited when his two buddies finally showed up. Sure enough, his friend asked if they could play video games and I said that we were going to play something else and then talk about possibly doing video games later. (On a side note, I'm not a huge fan of video games, we usually only pull them out about once a month or more and I personally hate setting them up! I'd prefer the kids play some other way than that.)
The kids thought it would be fun to go downstairs and play. Shortly after they started playing with toys, Hayden announced that it was in fact BoBo's birthday party and that everyone was invited! He took over and got everyone involved in what he called "decorating" by wrapping presents and putting together party favors. He put me in charge of making the cake. I told him that cake would take too long, but that I'd make cookies. So after all of the presents were wrapped and the cookies were made, we sang a very happy birthday to our very special BoBo the Dog!
Here are a couple of fun moments from the celebration!
I had to pull out my camera for a very impromptu birthday song!
Birthday horns and party hats for our very special BoBo!
It was a very fun party and I think the "re-gifts" were some of BoBo's favorite! ha ha
I had to blog about this because I was so impressed by how organized Hayden was at putting the party together, putting people in charge of things and making it a fun and exciting "party" day for everyone... without forgetting to give out party favors at the end! The only thing I helped Hayden with was getting out the plates and making some cookies, the rest was all thanks to my favorite little guy on this planet. I love you Hayden. You make everyday fun and exciting and I feel so blessed to be your mommy!
KEEP MOVING FORWARD!
Adrienne
