Counting down the days

We are so excited to be heading to Disneyland in 3 days! We'll be meeting some friends there and we will finally be enjoying the sunny California weather again. Oh how we have missed California. We can't wait to get some pool time, beach time and tons and tons of Disneyland/California Adventure time in as well.

It was a snowman kind of day!

We got out to enjoy the warm weather and snow today. Hayden really wanted to build a snow man, so we all worked hard to put a fun one together.  The only thing we had to make his face with was some left over veggies. So we decided to make a "Veggie Snowman"!

Then we noticed that our snowman was being eaten alive... our little man was very happy to eat his yummy veggies out of the snowman, ha ha!

We are literally counting down the days until our next trip to Disneyland. Would it be weird if I made an advent calendar for our Disneyland trip??? I think I just might do that.

Also, we were finally published on ItsAboutLove.org (Profile ID: 5631698- Kyle and Adrienne from Utah). That means that this whole process has now become real and our profile is out there for birth moms and birth dads to look at. We are looking forward to meeting these courageous new birthparents and hoping to connect really soon with "our new birth family", whoever they may be.  I wish I could make an advent calendar for meeting them as well, but it makes it that much more exciting to wait... I guess!!  I'll have to keep telling myself that, right???  I'm just so excited to become a new momma again.  :)

Excitement!

Hayden is talking about our "new baby" every day.  He keeps asking, "are we going to get our new baby today?" It's fun watching him prepare to be an older brother. It's almost like it's anticipation for another Christmas morning kind of excitement. He's been pulling out his baby doll lately and playing with him a lot. It's so nice, because it easily opens the door for us to talk to him about what it was like when he was born and we adopted him. We tell him the story of how we met his birth mom (I will leave her name out for privacy to her and her family) and how much love she has for him and that we have for her.  And he loves hearing his birth story and how we caught an airplane to be there to see him just minutes after he was born.  He is learning about all of the love that he has in his life, not because he was adopted, but because he is loved by SO many people and how important he is to every single one of us. We are excited to bring a new love into our lives and to watch Hayden and his "new baby" grow to love each other and become the best of friends!

Happy New Years!

We decided to take advantage of our much enhanced surroundings in our new home

and invite everyone over for a New Year's Eve party.  We spent most of the night eating and playing games.  The hit of the night was an intense round of "Just Dance 3" on the Nintendo Wii.  Even the little kids made it until midnight and were able to come outside and make some noise with the rest of us.  It was a lot of fun and we look forward to all of the new and exciting things that come with starting a new year.
